Wooden Wand is playing two exciting shows next week with Sonic Youth. Deerhoof are in Europe playing one more show with Radiohead before returning home to do a west coast tour and then a few east coast dates with the Flaming Lips. The Advantage are in the thick of a month-long national tour and The Punks a finishing up a west coast tour. Check the tours page for full dates and details. August 22, 2006 We are very pleased to anounce the release of the debut record by Inca Ore and Lemon Bear's Orchestra on 5rc. Inca Ore (AKA Eva Saelens) is a member of Jackie O Motherfucker and has collaborated with Yellow Swans. The Birds In The Bushes was recorded in a cabin on the Oregon coast in January 2006. Dodging fierce storms and gloomy heaves, the duo improvised for hours daily, building the skeletons for the songs that are the body of this album. July 25, 2006 And now it's here. So much activity. Barr always has a million things going on but right now he's getting ready for his first UK tour, a new issue of his magazine is shipping this week, and a split 7" with Xiu Xiu is in the works. Phew! Deerhoof also have some major touring ahead, with Radiohead no less. And on the The Mae-Shi side of things, their DVD is now available via netflix, if you haven't already bought it, that is. April 17, 2006 Ooh-la-la! 5RC has created its very first label sampler. The offering is called Sur La Mer Samp-le-mer and it's packed with unreleasesd tracks from the likes of Deerhoof, Xiu Xiu, No Neck Blues Band, and Wooden Wand. Slim Moon thinks you better listen up. In other April release news, The Mae-Shi and all their art school friends have gotten together to create a brand new DVD called Lock The Skull, Load The Gun. It's stuffed to the gills with over 30 music videos, a full length tour documentary, and tons and tons and tons of special features. There's even a trailer. A trailer! They are also on tour. August 23, 2005 It's the 23rd! Out comes the split Xiu Xiu/Devendra Banhart 7", which is Devendra covering Xiu Xiu on one side, and Xiu Xiu covering Devendra on the other side. All the 7" are colored vinyl, but it's this weird swirl thing, so they range from pink to turquoise to deep purple and everything in between. ENJOY! August 12, 2005 Like Xiu Xiu?
